First Ever Sip & Build Event!

First Ever Sip & Build Event!

Last month, I hosted my first-ever Sip & Build event, and it was a shockingly great success!

Earlier this year I decided I wanted to do less pop-up events and start hosting my own classes where I could help other plant-lovers create their own art. It took me a few months to pull the trigger, and honestly I wasn't expecting many people to attend - if any!

Thanks to some lovely ladies celebrating a birthday, I had a group of 12 friends show up PLUS 6 more guests that signed up to make their own upcycled wall art. I wasn't sure how we would all fit, and it ended up being pretty tight, but over all everyone seemed to have fun. The finished pieces were amazing!

This particular project is one that I will definitely do again. By using an old cabinet door as the background, participants get to upcycle something old into something new. No cutting or sanding is involved, just paint and a screwdriver. Everyone can opt out of including a phrase, use one of my suggestions, or choose their own to give it that personal touch.

To top it all off, they are completely evergreen! You can leave them up all year round and just swap out the filler foliage to match the season OR keep adding more cuttings as your plants start to root. Either way, the versatility is awesome and makes these a great addition to anyone's decor.

Were there a few hiccups? Of course, but nothing we couldn't work through!

The best part for me was getting to see everyone unleash their creativity and come up with their own design. No 2 pieces were exactly the same and some were VERY different. (In the best of ways)

Big thanks to my friend Katya who came to help & to everyone for being patient as I worked through my first class. I can't wait to host the next one!

Have an idea for other planty classes I could host?
